Ever since I was 14 years old I’d been dreaming of viewing the world through the lens of a camera. This thanks to Hugo van Lawick who filmed the wildlife documentary ‘The leopard son’ I had watched in the cinema in 1996. I suddenly realized there was actually somebody out there to film these animals and unknown places, and knew I wanted to be that someone.
Years later, in 2009, I graduated the film academy in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. On my first assignment after graduation I had the great opportunity of sailing around the world as part of the crew of the VPRO TV-documentary series ‘the Beagle, In Darwin’s wake’.
Ever since I’ve been working as a freelancer amongst many amazing people, on a great variety of projects.
